In common with all grades in the Tuftec™ P series, Tuftec™ P1500 is a new polymer type, termed SBBS, produced by selective hydrogenation at appropriate locations on the molecular chain of styrenic thermoplastic elastomer (styrene/butadiene/styrene; SBS). As a result, it is inherently outstanding in thermal properties, and superior in processability and low-temperature properties to the structurally similar Tuftec™ H series SEBS polymers. Tuftec™ P1500 is designed particularly for low-viscosity hot-melt adhesives, with good flow properties and a high-level balance in properties. Primarily for low-viscosity hot-melt adhesives. Superior to SBS in thermal stability. Reduced visicosity variance and discoloration. Compatible with full range of tackifiers, enabling broader range and freedom in selection of co-components and formulations than SBS or SEBS.
