Varcum 29153 is a one-step liquid phenolic resin in a mixture of butanol and diacetone alcohol. Baking-type, metal coating formulation. A versatile, general purpose resin suitable for formulating coatings for a wide variety of applications. Provides excellent resistance to solvents and acids. Good alkali resistance. Provides good flexibility of the cured film. Excellent performance in baking coating formulations for metal surfaces requiring shaping of the metal after coating and curing. For additional flexibility any compatible alkyd or vinyl resin may be added as a plasticizer. Recommended baking schedule: 10-15 minutes at 385°F. This resin is recommended for use in combination with epoxy resins for metal coatings and related applications.
