| Santicizer® 278 is a monomeric phthalic acid ester capable of reproducing the properties of polymeric plasticizers. It has a very low volatility, and mechanical properties such as attainable modulus and tensile strength are similar to those of high molecular weight polymeric plasticizers. Values obtained with Santicizer® 278 in the Linde silica migration test come very close to those of polymeric plasticizers; and, in relation to extraction resistance, Santicizer® 278 is again similar, although migration resistance into polystyrene is inferior. |
