RTV-2 SILICONE SEALANT/ADHESIVE

ELASTOSIL® RT 779 is a two-part, non-slump, room temperature vulcanizing silicone rubber showing an outstanding oil resistance and an excellent primerless
adhesion on polyamide and aluminum. The performance of ELASTOSIL® RT 779 has been tested in cooperation with the INPRO GmbH, Berlin, Germany. Results are available on request.

Special features
  • outstanding oil resistance
  • high thermal resistance
  • thixotropic, non-sag
  • low risk of inhibition
  • primerless adhesion on many substrates, espescially Aluminum and PA

Application
  • Special FIPG-grade for the glueing and sealing of assemblies with oil contact, e.g. engine housings.

Processing
  • All surfaces must be clean and dry to allow optimum adhesion.
  • The two components can be processed and mixed by the use of standard pumps and static mixers. The ratio of mixed volumes and the extruded quantity has to be chosen adequately to avoid partially cure in the static mixer.
  • ELASTOSIL® RT 779 is processed in combination with Catalyst T 79. The curing time can be easily adjusted to the particular needs by varying the ratio of component A and B. We recommend running preliminary tests to optimize conditions for the particular application. Comprehensive processing instructions are given in our leaflet "Wacker RTV-2 Silicone Rubber -Processing".
