Red Silicone 55-65. Diesel cylinder liner ring grade. Silicone rubber having both methyl and vinyl substituent groups on the polymer chain. ASTM & ISO designation = VMQ. Excellent heat resistance and low temperature flexibility combined with low compression set performance. Used primarily for diesel cylinder liner O-Rings (coolant sealing). Although silicone will swell in petroleum lubricants, this is not necessarily detrimental in static sealing applications. |
