PVDC ready-to-use premix Ixan® PVS 706 is an PVDC-based blend designed for the extrusion of monofilaments used in fibers applications, chemical and abrasion resistance, and flame resistance. It is based on a PVDC resin copolymer of vinylidene chloride and vinyl chloride (VDC/VC).

PROCESSINGAs supplied, Ixan® PVS 706 is formulated for the extrusion of monofilaments. It can be processed by extrusion using machine designs that allow streamlined plastic flow in order to minimize the risk of plastic hold-up in the equipment.Ixan® PVS 706 must be kept below 200°C. At 165°C, the material is thermally stable for 12 minutes. Residence time should be minimized as thermal degradation during melt processing will release hydrogen chloride gas via a reaction that is catalyzed by the presence of iron, copper and zinc.Construction materials for the machine: we recommend that the parts in contact with the melt PVDC must be made with high corrosion resistance and no catalytic materials, i.e., made with high Ni alloy like Xaloy, Duranickel, Colmonoy and Hastelloy.STORAGE Keep in a well-ventilated and dry place. To maintain product quality, do not store in heat or direct sunlight. Keep only in the original container at a temperature not exceeding 40°C. To avoid thermal decomposition, do not overheat. FOOD AND DRUG LEGISLATIONSSome agency ratings are listed on page 1. Necessary certification will be provided upon request.ISO CERTIFICATIONThe implemented management system for the production, internal transfer and delivery, design and development of Ixan® vinylidene chloride copolymers (PVDC) produced in Tavaux has been assessed and found to meet the requirements of ISO 9001: 2008, ISO 14001: 2004 and OHSAS 18001: 2007.
