NuSil Technology's unrestricted materials may be considered for long-term implant applications (greater than 29 days).

A silicone gel is an unreinforced, loosely crosslinked network of polymers. Due to the lack of reinforcing fi ller, gels tend to be low in viscosity in the uncured state, allowing fl exibility for various processing techniques. Not only can the crosslink density of the silicone polymers be designed to yield a very fi rm or soft gel, but the work time and cure profi le can also be modifi ed. Accordingly, gels can be used in a variety of applications, including sheeting and encapsulating sensors or electronic devices.
