AMPLIFY™ GR 388 Functional Polymer is a grafted polyethylene for use in multi-layer pipe structures. It is designed as an adhesive combining excellent processing characteristics with superior adhesion properties, required for multilayer pipes with metals like aluminium and other polar materials. This resin provides outstanding thermal stability at elevated temperatures beyond the required testing times. Due to its non-polar polymer structure it is not sensitive to hydrolysis.

Main Characteristics:
  • Very good performance in multilayer pipes due to excellent adhesion to aluminum and polyethylene layers, made from PE-RT resins or PEX.
  • Outstanding temperature resistance, long-term thermal stability and durability.
  • Easy processing.
  • Low water absorption.
  • When properly fabricated, AMPLIFY GR 388 Functional Polymer is expected to meet the organoleptic requirements for drinking water applications.

It can be used in:
  • Under-floor heating pipes
  • Radiator connection pipes
  • Hot and cold water distribution pipes
  • Pipes for industrial applications.

Processing Recommendations:
  • AMPLIFY GR 388 Functional Polymer can be readily extruded using conventional techniques with melt temperatures between 200 and 250 °C.
